Researchers from "SACHI":http://sachi.cs.st-andrews.ac.uk/ at the University of St Andrews and the "DFKI Saarbrücken":http://umtl.cs.uni-saarland.de/index.php ("Michael Mauderer":http://michaelmauderer.de/, Florian Daiber and Antonio Krüger) used libavg to implement an interaction technique that combines gesture input and gaze tracking to enable interaction with out of reach objects on a large tabletop surface.

The interaction technique allows selecting distant objects by hitting them with a throwable object that can be flicked across the surface. Since the user has to actually hit the target for a correct selection, and this can be more difficult for small or very remote targets, the aim of the user is improved by taking into account his gaze, which is tracked by an eye tracker mounted above the surface.
